Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty Min­is­ter Fitzger­ald Hinds has an­nounced the ap­point­ment of Cedrick Nep­tune as the new in­spec­tor of pris­ons.

Dur­ing a press con­fer­ence to­day, Min­is­ter Hinds said Nep­tune, who served in the post pre­vi­ous­ly be­tween 2017 to 2019, was among sev­er­al peo­ple who had ap­plied for the po­si­tion.

Ac­cord­ing to the Min­is­ter, Nep­tune's will­ing­ness to serve and his ex­pe­ri­ence will im­prove the ef­fi­cien­cy of the prison ser­vice.

Nep­tune's tenure of ap­point­ment com­mences to­day and will run for two years.
