Curvis Fran­cois has been ap­point­ed T&TEC's new Gen­er­al Man­ag­er. He will re­place cur­rent GM, Kelvin Ram­sook, who re­tires from the com­mis­sion on June 30, af­ter 37 years of ser­vice.

Ac­cord­ing to a T&TEC re­lease, Fran­cois is an elec­tri­cal en­gi­neer who joined the Com­mis­sion in 1986 as an En­gi­neer-in-Train­ing. He holds an Ex­ec­u­tive MBA (Arthur Lok Jack GSB), a BSc in Elec­tri­cal En­gi­neer­ing (UWI), and cer­ti­fi­ca­tion in Project Man­age­ment and Re­li­a­bil­i­ty En­gi­neer­ing.

"Over the course of his ca­reer, Mr Fran­cois gained ex­ten­sive ex­pe­ri­ence in all as­pects of Dis­tri­b­u­tion Plant de­sign, con­struc­tion, op­er­a­tions and main­te­nance. He al­so pi­o­neered the im­ple­men­ta­tion of an En­ter­prise Ge­o­graph­ic In­for­ma­tion Sys­tem (GIS) with­in the Com­mis­sion. He has held sev­er­al man­age­r­i­al roles with­in the or­gan­i­sa­tion, with his last ap­point­ment be­ing Chief Op­er­at­ing Of­fi­cer in 2019," the T&TEC state­ment said.

It added: "The Com­mis­sion al­so wish­es to ac­knowl­edge the con­tri­bu­tion of the out­go­ing Gen­er­al Man­ag­er Mr. Ram­sook who served as Gen­er­al Man­ag­er for the last 11 years. We thank him for his ser­vice and con­tri­bu­tion to the Com­mis­sion and, by ex­ten­sion, the coun­try and wish him a hap­py and ful­fill­ing re­tire­ment."
