?One Ur­ban De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion of Trinidad and To­ba­go (Ude­cott) board mem­ber, An­tho­ny Cher­ry, says Ude­cott board mem­bers are "not God."

He said this af­ter Calder Hart quit as ex­ec­u­tive chair­man of Ude­cott and abrupt­ly and left Trinidad and To­ba­go. Cher­ry said the re­main­ing four mem­bers of Ude­cott board of di­rec­tors were ex­pect­ed to con­vene an emer­gency meet­ing to­day, to dis­cuss their op­er­a­tions in Hart's ab­sence. He main­tained that there was no rea­son for him to re­sign from the board, al­though there were re­peat­ed and nu­mer­ous calls for all oth­er Ude­cott board mem­bers to re­sign.

Cher­ry added that Ude­cott was "not wa­ter-tight against er­ror more than an­oth­er com­pa­ny in T&T or wa­ter­tight against over­sight." In a tele­phone in­ter­view yes­ter­day, Cher­ry said: "It is a com­pa­ny. We are not gods. Have you seen the wa­ter­front (project)? "Some­times we get things right. We did not get (the sta­di­um at) Tarou­ba right. We had some hic­cups there." Cher­ry said he main­tained con­tact with Hart and that they last spoke on Sun­day. "Well, he is away. I spoke to him and said he was out of the coun­try. But, I am not too sure where he is. He is not wor­ried. As a mat­ter of fact, we were talk­ing about fish­ing," Cher­ry said.
