?One Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (Udecott) board member, Anthony Cherry, says Udecott board members are "not God."
He said this after Calder Hart quit as executive chairman of Udecott and abruptly and left Trinidad and Tobago. Cherry said the remaining four members of Udecott board of directors were expected to convene an emergency meeting today, to discuss their operations in Hart's absence. He maintained that there was no reason for him to resign from the board, although there were repeated and numerous calls for all other Udecott board members to resign.
Cherry added that Udecott was "not water-tight against error more than another company in T&T or watertight against oversight." In a telephone interview yesterday, Cherry said: "It is a company. We are not gods. Have you seen the waterfront (project)? "Sometimes we get things right. We did not get (the stadium at) Tarouba right. We had some hiccups there." Cherry said he maintained contact with Hart and that they last spoke on Sunday. "Well, he is away. I spoke to him and said he was out of the country. But, I am not too sure where he is. He is not worried. As a matter of fact, we were talking about fishing," Cherry said.
