One sus­pect has been ar­rest­ed and two firearms, am­mu­ni­tion, and cannabis were seized dur­ing a se­ries of co­or­di­nat­ed an­ti-crime op­er­a­tions con­duct­ed yes­ter­day.

In the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion, In­ter-Agency Task Force (IATF) of­fi­cers car­ried out an ex­er­cise be­tween 4 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. in the En­ter­prise dis­trict.

Dur­ing a search at Chrissie Ter­rance, they dis­cov­ered two bul­let­proof vests, ap­prox­i­mate­ly 4.1 kilo­grammes of cannabis, and 15 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

In the Port-of-Spain dis­trict, a search at the Dun­can Street Plan­nings led to the dis­cov­ery of a re­volver loaded with four rounds of am­mu­ni­tion, along with a quan­ti­ty of cannabis. An ad­di­tion­al nine rounds of 7.62mm and 9mm am­mu­ni­tion were al­so re­cov­ered.

In an­oth­er ex­er­cise, of­fi­cers of the Task Force Ar­eas North and South car­ried out an op­er­a­tion in La Hor­quet­ta be­tween 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, they searched an un­oc­cu­pied par­cel of land in Phase 7 and un­cov­ered a quan­ti­ty of cannabis.

Lat­er, the same of­fi­cers stopped a Nis­san X-Trail. A search of the ve­hi­cle re­vealed one Beretta pis­tol fit­ted with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing two rounds of am­mu­ni­tion. The 35-year-old male dri­ver was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the find.
