Police are investigating the robbery of a St James furniture store that occurred on Friday morning.

Police said the store's manager reported that he was at the counter when a bandit walked into the business place at around 11:15 am and pulled out a gun.

The bandit demanded cash as the manager handed over $2,000 from the cash register and $36,835 that was kept in an envelope under the counter.

The bandit then walked out the door and escaped.

Officers of the St James CID and the Western Division Operations Centre are continuing enquiries.
