A pas­tor from Cen­tral Trinidad is now be­hind bars af­ter be­ing charged with bug­ger­ing a 21-year-old so­cial­ly-dis­placed man.

Christo­pher Per­reira was charged on Mon­day af­ter­noon af­ter in­quiries by the Ch­agua­nas CID.

The pas­tor, who is head of the ISM Min­istries based in Va­len­cia, was re­mand­ed in­to cus­tody and will reap­pear be­fore the Ch­agua­nas Mag­is­trate’s Court to­mor­row morn­ing.

He was not grant­ed bail, how­ev­er, bail is like­ly to come up to­mor­row.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, the in­ci­dents oc­curred some­time be­tween April and Ju­ly of this year in the Ch­agua­nas area.

The young man, who has been de­scribed as so­cial­ly dis­placed, was go­ing to church and was in­tro­duced to the pas­tor.

It is un­clear how the events un­fold­ed there­after, how­ev­er, the church runs a foun­da­tion called the Help Foun­da­tion and Tran­si­tion­ing Cen­tre.

Per­reira is said to be in his thir­ties and lives at Xeres Road in Carlsen Field, Ch­agua­nas.

Guardian Me­dia at­tempt­ed to con­tact the Va­len­cia church this af­ter­noon but all calls to the list­ed num­ber went unan­swered.
