WASA customers in parts of the Tunapuna/St. Augustine area will continue to see a disruption in their pipe-borne water supply for a little longer today, as the Water and Sewerage Authority continues repairs on a secondary pipeline in the vicinity of the Curepe Interchange.
An advisory from the Authority explains that work at the site is ongoing and repairs on this pipeline is expected to be completed by 4:00 pm today (Friday, March 15, 2024).
During this week, WASA had been conducting major emergency repairs in the area to a ruptured transmission pipeline, along the westbound lane of Churchill Roosevelt Highway, in the vicinity of the Curepe Interchange.
“The major repairs were completed ahead of time, at 4:00 a.m. this morning—Friday 15th March 2024—and the supply restored along the Caroni North transmission system,” the WASA advisory reports.
However, the Authority says work continues on the secondary pipeline.
Areas that continue to be affected include Macoya, Pasea, Curepe, St. Augustine, Valsayn South, and Real Spring.

Motorists proceeding West along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, are reminded that the filter lane to the Curepe Interchange remains inaccessible to vehicles and, therefore, alternative routes should be used.
WASA is reminding its customers that it may take up to 48 hours for the service to normalize to some affected areas, in accordance with established water supply schedules. It also notes that a limited truck borne service is available upon request, and can be accessed via the following self-service options:
● WASA Services App available via the Play Store or Apple store; or
● Customer Portal available on the Authority’s website: www.wasa.gov.tt.
WASA customers needing direct assistance or further information can contact the Authority’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420 and 800-4426.
