The People’s National Movement (PNM) Tobago Council has begun unveiling its candidates for the upcoming Tobago House of Assembly election.
During the first three nights of its “Tobago Deserves Better” community meetings, the party introduced Dominic Kerr for the Canaan/Bon Accord district, Shone John for Roxborough/Argyle, and Sterling Timothy for Bethel/New Grange.
The meetings, which began on Monday at the Canaan Multi-Purpose Facility, are part of a series of island-wide conversations scheduled throughout November.
The PNM has also confirmed that its Tobago political leader, Ancil Dennis, will contest the Buccoo/Mt Pleasant seat. Dennis lost this seat by three votes in the December 6, 2021 election.
According to the party, the community meetings aim to engage residents directly on local issues and outline plans for Tobago’s development ahead of the election.
The series continues on Saturday night at Mason Hall, followed by meetings in Lambeau, Hope, and Patience Hill in the coming days.
The party hosted screening for elections in July but had not revealed any of its 15 candidates to contest the electoral districts until now.
