A 60-year-old man will ap­pear be­fore a San Fer­nan­do Mag­is­trate on April 6 charged with the mur­der of Nir­mala Jag­ger­nath, which oc­curred on Au­gust 11, 2022. 

Cliff Ho­sein, aka ‘Sexy’, was charged with the of­fence on Tues­day at the Port of Spain Prison and the mat­ter was called in his ab­sence in the San Fer­nan­do First Mag­is­trates’ Court, be­fore Mag­is­trate Deb­by Ann Bas­saw. 

The Mag­is­trate ad­journed the mat­ter to April. 

Ac­cord­ing to the po­lice re­ports, Jag­ger­nath, 64, aka ‘Shirley’, was at her Point-a-Pierre Road, San Fer­nan­do, home on Au­gust 11 2022, when she al­leged­ly got in­to an ar­gu­ment with a man. 

Some­time lat­er, her body was found ly­ing mo­tion­less in the house. 

Fol­low­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions po­lice ar­rest­ed Ho­sein in con­nec­tion with the mat­ter. 

Ho­sein is cur­rent­ly serv­ing a sen­tence for lar­ce­ny of­fences in the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion.
