Sev­er­al po­lice of­fi­cers were among those in­jured in a two-ve­hi­cle col­li­sion in San Fer­nan­do on Mon­day night.

The crash oc­curred around 8.50 pm along La­dy Hailes Av­enue, in­volv­ing a Nis­san X-Trail as­signed to the San Fer­nan­do CID and a Kia K2700 truck.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, the po­lice ve­hi­cle was trav­el­ling east with the right of way when the truck, trav­el­ling in the op­po­site di­rec­tion, at­tempt­ed to turn on­to the Rien­zi Kir­ton High­way and crossed in­to its path.

The col­li­sion re­sult­ed in dam­age to both ve­hi­cles and mi­nor in­juries to the oc­cu­pants, in­clud­ing PC Ram­roop, who was dri­ving the po­lice ve­hi­cle, along with fel­low of­fi­cers PC O’Con­nor and PC Pha­goo.

Al­so in­jured were the dri­ver of the Kia, Ti­ba Ju­nior Christo­pher Mills, his pas­sen­ger, and a ten-month-old child. All in­jured oc­cu­pants were ad­vised to seek med­ical at­ten­tion.

Crime scene in­ves­ti­ga­tors processed the scene, while of­fi­cers from the San Fer­nan­do Po­lice Sta­tion and CID re­spond­ed as in­ves­ti­ga­tions con­tin­ue. - Kevon Felmine
