Police are set to investigate yet another school fight, this time at the Chaguanas South Secondary School.

This was confirmed yesterday by Minister of Education Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, who said the matter has been referred to the police.

On Wednesday, video footage of an altercation between two girls surfaced on social media. One of the girls seemed to have been knocked unconscious during the incident.

Gadsby-Dolly yesterday said the student was treated at a public health facility afterwards and has a follow-up appointment today. She said the student has a medical condition and the incident had intensified her symptoms.

Gadsby-Dolly said the students’ parents were called to the school and officers from the Student Support Services Division are continuing to counsel the parties involved.

Meanwhile, Chaguanas East MP Vandana Mohit strongly condemned violence at the secondary school but commended the early intervention of the police. She also requested a small token of appreciation be given to the boys seen helping the unconscious student.
