Thieves stole ap­prox­i­mate­ly $50,000 worth of equip­ment from a preschool in Cen­tral dur­ing a break-in last Tues­day morn­ing.

Inze­maan Mirza from In­flu­ence Church dis­cov­ered the crime when staff ar­rived to open the fa­cil­i­ty. The T&TEC elec­tric­i­ty me­ter was miss­ing, and the build­ing was with­out pow­er.

The in­trud­ers en­tered through an up­stairs win­dow, broke a door, and stole tele­vi­sions from the chil­dren’s area, as well as four speak­ers from the stage. “Who­ev­er did this knew ex­act­ly what they were do­ing,” Mirza said.

De­spite the loss, Mirza ex­pressed hope, em­pha­siz­ing grat­i­tude over ma­te­r­i­al pos­ses­sions. Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing and have in­creased pa­trols in Cara­pichaima, where oth­er re­cent break-ins have oc­curred.
