President Weekes ‘normal normal’ after getting COVID jab

Pres­i­dent Paula-Mae Weekes was back on the job to­day, “nor­mal, nor­mal”, af­ter re­ceiv­ing her first dose of the COVID-19 vac­cine from As­traZeneca.

And she is urg­ing cit­i­zens to make every ef­fort the get vac­ci­nat­ed, too, to en­sure that every­one is safe from the coro­n­avirus.

A re­lease from the Of­fice of the Pres­i­dent says she and her 92-year-old moth­er Phyl­lis Weekes had the vac­cine ad­min­is­tered at the Diego Mar­tin Health Cen­tre, on Tues­day 6th April 2021.

“24 hours lat­er, Her Ex­cel­len­cy is hap­py to re­port that both she, with her pre-di­a­bet­ic sta­tus and her moth­er with sev­er­al co-mor­bidi­ties, are do­ing fine and have ex­pe­ri­enced ab­solute­ly no side ef­fects,” the state­ment said.

Both the Pres­i­dent and her moth­er had re­ceived clear­ance from their doc­tors be­fore re­ceiv­ing the shot, yes­ter­day.
