Armed robbers beat and tied up a sales clerk during a robbery at a Princes Town jewellery shop yesterday.
Police said Sasha Jagdeo, 31, of New Grant, was at her workplace, Ian Jewellery Shop, on Maingot Road, St Julien Road, Princes Town, when around 9 am, two suspects approached her and announced a robbery.
One suspect struck the victim on her face and restrained her hands and feet.
The suspects then removed items from the shop, including gold jewellery, watches and scrap gold, with a reported value totalling more than $380,000.
After taking the items, the suspects left in a Nissan Tiida and travelled along the Naparima Mayaro Road.
Officers from the Princes Town Criminal Investigations Department responded, visited the scene and gathered information.
Another police unit processed the scene, and no prints were obtained.
