Top ex­ec­u­tives at Pro­man have told Gov­ern­ment that the com­pa­ny in­tends to en­hance its out­put of petro­chem­i­cals and part­ner with the cur­rent ad­min­is­tra­tion to re­alise this coun­try’s am­bi­tion to main­tain its po­si­tion as the en­er­gy hub of the Caribbean.

Pro­man’s top ex­ec­u­tives met re­cent­ly (June 23, 2025) with Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar, along with En­er­gy Min­is­ter Dr. Roodal Mooni­lal, and Min­is­ter in the Min­istry of En­er­gy and En­er­gy In­dus­tries, Ernesto Ke­sar, at the Of­fice of the Par­lia­ment, Port-of-Spain.

The Pro­man Ex­ec­u­tive Team was led by David Cas­sidy, Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer Pro­man AG, and in­clud­ed Anand Rag­bir, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, Pro­man Trinidad and Giselle Thomp­son, Deputy Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, Pro­man Trinidad.

Dur­ing the meet­ing, dis­cus­sions fo­cused on Pro­man’s com­mit­ment to pur­su­ing fur­ther in­vest­ment in both the up­stream and down­stream en­er­gy sec­tors.

David Cas­sidy shared Pro­man's long his­to­ry in Trinidad and To­ba­go and the com­pa­ny's com­mit­ment to con­tin­ued in­vest­ment in its op­er­a­tions and its peo­ple.

He and the oth­er ex­ec­u­tives told the PM and the en­er­gy min­is­ters that notwith­stand­ing chal­lenges of gas cur­tail­ments, geopo­lit­i­cal risks and volatile glob­al mar­kets, Pro­man will b lever­ag­ing “its en­tre­pre­neur­ial spir­it” to ad­vance op­por­tu­ni­ties in Trinidad and To­ba­go.

The com­pa­ny’s ex­ec­u­tive team high­light­ed Pro­man’s aim of part­ner­ing with the Gov­ern­ment to ad­vance op­por­tu­ni­ties that will sup­port its vi­sion of Trinidad and To­ba­go's re-emer­gence as the en­er­gy hub of the re­gion.

The Pro­man Ex­ec­u­tive Team al­so com­mit­ted to dis­cussing in de­tail with the Min­istry of En­er­gy and En­er­gy In­dus­tries spe­cif­ic ini­tia­tives to ad­vance new, near-term projects and en­hanc­ing cur­rent out­put of petro­chem­i­cal prod­ucts.

The Min­istry re­ports that Prime Min­is­ter Per­sad-Bisses­sar and En­er­gy Min­is­ters Mooni­lal and Ke­sar com­mit­ted to work­ing with Pro­man and oth­er in­dus­try part­ners to en­sure that Trinidad and To­ba­go “con­tin­ues to at­tract and ac­cel­er­ate in­vest­ment in sup­port of na­tion­al en­er­gy goals and eco­nom­ic growth”, and as Gov­ern­ment “forges ahead with im­ple­ment­ing strate­gies to re­vi­tal­ize the lo­cal en­er­gy sec­tor.”
