Residents of Salazar Trace, Point Fortin, apprehended two robbery suspects over the weekend after their neighbour raised the alarm.

Around 3:10 am on Saturday, the victim reportedly saw two men remove a chainsaw from beneath his house. He immediately called out for help, prompting several neighbours to respond and pursue the suspects into nearby bushes.

The residents managed to catch the two men and handed them over to officers at the Point Fortin Police Station. Police arrested both suspects—two 24-year-old men from Fyzabad—in connection with the larceny report.

In a separate case, a Moruga man appeared before the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court on firearm and ammunition charges.

Zackarie Sharpe, also known as ‘Smallie’, of Rock River, was charged with possession of firearm and possession of ammunition. Magistrate Singh-Phillip granted him bail in the sum of $200,000 with a surety. He is expected to reappear in court on Monday.
