Salesman accused of sexually molesting girl, 5, on $200,000 bail

A 46-year-old sales­man, ac­cused of sex­u­al­ly mo­lest­ing a five-year-old girl and show­ing her porno­graph­ic ma­te­r­i­al, has been grant­ed bail in the sum of $200,000.

San Fer­nan­do mag­is­trate Armi­na De­onar­i­nesingh or­dered the man to stay 200 feet from the child and not to have any con­tact with her. He must al­so move out of his home, as he lives in the child’s neigh­bour­hood, and re­port once a week to the St Mar­garet’s Po­lice Sta­tion.

He is fac­ing three charges of sex­u­al touch­ing of a child, caus­ing a child to watch a sex­u­al act and ex­pos­ing a child to a dan­ger­ous drug.

The po­lice were con­tact­ed on May 22, af­ter the child’s moth­er was shown a video record­ing of the man al­leged­ly mo­lest­ing the child and show­ing her movies of naked women.
It was al­leged that the man al­so had mar­i­jua­na in the house in the child’s pres­ence.

He was ar­rest­ed and charged by WPC Paul. The mat­ter has been ad­journed to June 28.(SW)
