A 25-year-old man, Nyrell Ho­sein, has been charged with the mur­der of Nicholas David Fields, which oc­curred on Feb­ru­ary 24.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, Fields, a 22-year-old from San­gre Grande was speak­ing with an­oth­er man around 6 pm at his home when a man dressed in blue and wear­ing a mask ap­proached them. There was a scuf­fle af­ter the sus­pect re­moved a cell phone and some cash from Fields’ pock­et, af­ter which three loud ex­plo­sions were heard and the sus­pect fled the scene.

Fields was rushed to the San­gre Grande Hos­pi­tal where he died.

Ho­sein, al­so of San­gre Grande, was al­so charged with pos­ses­sion of firearm and pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion, when he ap­peared in High Court.

The Suf­fi­cien­cy Hear­ing date has been set for Jan­u­ary 13 2026.
