Jalani Mapp faces multiple charges in connection with a fatal road traffic accident involving Kiss truck driver Neil Ballai on March 28.
In addition to the charge of causing death by dangerous driving, Mapp, 30, is also charged with failing to stop after a road traffic accident, dangerous driving, failure to render assistance, and driving without a certificate of insurance.
Mapp is required to report to a police station on the first weekday of each month between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The accident occurred when Ballai, 55, of Valsayn, was driving a company truck along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway and was rear-ended by a black Hyundai Ioniq, which then fled the scene. Ballai was pronounced dead at the scene, while a passenger in the truck was hospitalized with injuries. A male suspect was arrested shortly after the incident.
