Cathy said, “There has been an upsurge of larceny motor vehicles in the Southern Division with specific targeting of certain vehicles, namely the Aquas, Tiidas, the B14s. So, we are out here on the nation’s roadways not only for the purpose of trying to identify stolen vehicles but to bring awareness to members of the public and bring awareness to the drivers of these vehicles to either secure their vehicles in a better manner as to prevent larcenies of these vehicles. These vehicles are stolen between the hours of 1 am to 5 am from Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.”
At least two people were arrested on warrants during the exercise, which was spearheaded by Snr Supt Smith.
