Prime Min­is­ter Dr. Ralph Gon­salves has held talks with a se­nior of­fi­cial from the Sau­di Ara­bia Fund for De­vel­op­ment, ac­cord­ing to an of­fi­cial state­ment is­sued here.

It said that Gon­salves met with the Fund’s chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer, Sul­tan bin Ab­dul­ra­haman Al-Mar­shad as Kingston seeks to “deep­en re­la­tions with the King­dom of Sau­di Ara­bia”.

The state­ment quot­ed Gon­salves as say­ing that the meet­ing held at the Ary­gle In­ter­na­tion­al Air­Port on Tues­day was “ an ex­treme­ly dis­cus­sion” and that they “spoke on de­vel­op­ment projects touch­ing and con­cern­ing cli­mate change and oth­er pri­or­i­ty ar­eas”.

Al Mar­shad has said the the fund “ will re-eval­u­ate the pro­posed de­vel­op­men­tal projects and are more than hap­py to con­tin­ue de­vel­op­ment re­la­tions”.

The St. Vin­cent and the Grenadines gov­ern­ment re­cent­ly signed two loan agree­ments to­talling EC$16 mil­lion (One EC dol­lar=US$0.37 cents) with the fund that was es­tab­lished in 1975, for the con­struc­tion two cul­tur­al hubs and a health cen­ter.
