Success keeps following Brenardo Thompson, aka Tam Tam, who made a clean sweep of Tobago Carnival 2026, adding the inaugural Road March crown to his maiden Soca Titans title.
The Roxborough artiste’s hit song, Follow Me, was played 56 times over the weekend and continues to gain traction ahead of the return of the International Soca Monarch competition next year.
Poised on a Fog Angels music truck on Sunday afternoon, Tam Tam took command of the band as it made its way along Wilson Road, Scarborough.
His Road March victory earned him $75,000, matching the purse for the Soca Titans competition.
A close second in the Road March was Foster General’s Cocrico, which was played 47 times.
Former Soca Titans winner Verrse was third with 11 plays.
On his victories, Tam Tam said he felt overwhelmed to see his hard work paying off.
“This is like a big dream come true. This is basically history,” he said.
He said he was grateful for the love and feedback from the public and his supporters.
“I am looking forward to putting Tobago on my shoulder and represent them.”
He gave a special tribute to Tobago Festivals Commission and the Tobago House of Assembly for helping the island showcase its talent.
Meanwhile, Tam Tam’s management team said while Soca Monarch is next on the horizon, the intent is to take the artiste international.
Quincy Joseph, aka Fadah Ten, management team lead of Upgrade Professional Services, said, “This is not a Tobago song. This is a global song...Trinidad next and then global is the focus.”
Joseph said Tobago has tremendous talent and noted commitment and a strong work ethic will erase all barriers—real and perceived.
“In Tobago we feel the artiste getting fight because of this and that. All artistes get fight (down). All success stories have a struggle. I wanna thank God for the struggle and for the results.”
