A 16-year-old stu­dent was among two peo­ple killed in a shoot­ing in Bras­so ear­ly to­day, which left two oth­ers, in­clud­ing an­oth­er teenag­er, nurs­ing gun­shot wounds.

The de­ceased have been iden­ti­fied as Ricky Christo­pher Joseph, 20, a con­struc­tion work­er, and 16-year-old stu­dent Dar­rius Shadrack.

Joseph’s broth­er, Col­ly Joseph, al­so a con­struc­tion work­er, and his friend, 15-year-old stu­dent Jerell Ganesh, were in­jured in the at­tack.

Po­lice said the four were stay­ing at an un­fin­ished wood­en struc­ture at Ca­paro Val­ley, Bras­so, where the shoot­ing oc­curred.

Ini­tial re­ports in­di­cat­ed that around 2 am, they were in­side the struc­ture when sev­er­al gun­shots were heard. Ricky Joseph died at the scene, while Shadrack was pro­nounced dead on ar­rival at the Ch­agua­nas Health Fa­cil­i­ty.

The in­jured vic­tims re­main ward­ed in hos­pi­tal. Po­lice said Ricky Joseph was sus­pect­ed to be in­volved in il­le­gal ac­tiv­i­ties, in­clud­ing sell­ing nar­cotics.

Cen­tral Di­vi­sion po­lice and of­fi­cers from the Re­gion 3 Homi­cide Bu­reau are con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
