Three people, including two teenagers, were shot and wounded in Wallerfield on Wednesday night after gunmen opened fire on them.

Investigators told Guardian Media that 17-year-old Kareem Patrick, Shazim Hypolite,16 and Antonio Marcano, 29, all from the Wallerfield area, were standing near a shop at Chaconia Drive around 8.20 pm when two gunmen came out of a vehicle and opened fire.

The three victims were hit in their lower bodies. The gunmen then escaped in the waiting car.

The wounded teens and the man were taken to the Arima Hospital where they were treated.

Senior police sources told Guardian Media that the men's injuries are non-life threatening. They believe the shooting incident stemmed from an issue involving a woman.
