Three men were arrested in connection with two separate incidents of robbery, kidnapping and vehicle theft on Thursday.
In San Fernando, police said a woman was at her home around 11.30 am when a man armed with a cutlass entered and demanded money. He allegedly took two cellphones and forced her into her white Toyota Aqua.
They went to a bank in Gulf View, where the suspect told her to withdraw cash from the ATM. The woman raised an alarm inside the bank, and the man drove off in her car. Officers later intercepted the vehicle in Victoria Village and arrested a 32-year-old man of Pleasantville. The car and stolen items were recovered.
In a separate case in Arima, officers observed a white Nissan AD Wagon speeding along the Eastern Main Road around 12.30 am. They stopped the vehicle and arrested two men, aged 28 and 29, of Pinto and St Joseph. Checks showed the car had been stolen earlier in Maturita.
One suspect is expected to be charged with several traffic offences along with vehicle larceny, while the other faces a charge of vehicle larceny.
Investigations are continuing.
