Three charged for 2019 payroll fraud scheme

Three peo­ple are fac­ing charges re­lat­ed to a pay­roll scheme. 

Po­lice say No­vem­ber 2019, a se­cu­ri­ty com­pa­ny made a re­port that as a re­sult of an au­dit, they dis­cov­ered be­tween April 2019 and Oc­to­ber 2019, a fe­male em­ploy­ee al­leged­ly fal­si­fied the records of the pay­roll sys­tem, by in­sert­ing the names of for­mer em­ploy­ees, by putting the bank­ing in­for­ma­tion of two oth­er sus­pects who were not em­ployed in the com­pa­ny. 

Three sus­pects in­clud­ing a US cit­i­zen ap­peared be­fore a Mas­ter of the High Court yes­ter­day, charged with mul­ti­ple counts of Lar­ce­ny.

Am­ryl Pierre, 36, of Ari­ma, was charged with 24 counts of fal­si­fi­ca­tion of ac­counts and two counts of lar­ce­ny. She was al­so joint­ly charged with Vanes­sa Brown, 40, a US Cit­i­zen, who re­sides in D’Abadie, with one count of Lar­ce­ny in the sum of $9,533.28 and Ailan Gar­cia, 34, of Va­len­cia, with one count of Lar­ce­ny in the sum of $21,698.58.

The trio ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Sha­bana Shah in the Ari­ma High

Court on Mon­day 13th May, 2024. Pierre was grant­ed bail in the sum of $175,000 with sure­ty to cov­er all charges. As con­di­tions of bail, she is to re­side at her Ari­ma ad­dress and re­port to a po­lice sta­tion one day a week be­tween the hours of 6 am and 6 pm.

Brown was grant­ed bail in the sum of $50,000 with sure­ty and is to re­side in the D’Abadie dis­trict. Her US pass­port is to be hand­ed over to the Reg­is­trar of the High Court by May 15th, 2024 and re­port to a po­lice sta­tion one day every oth­er week.

Mean­while, Gar­cia was grant­ed bail in the sum of $65,000 with sure­ty and is to re­side in Va­len­cia. He is to re­port to the Va­len­cia Po­lice Post one day every oth­er week.

All mat­ters were post­poned to June 5th, 2024.
