Tobago contractor dies after fall at job site

A To­ba­go con­trac­tor has died less than a day af­ter falling off a lad­der while work­ing at a vil­la in Bon Ac­cord.

Dar­ryl Fi­garo, 62, of Mt Hay, Black Rock, was re­port­ed­ly car­ry­ing out elec­tri­cal work on the roof of More Vibes Vil­la around 5.15 pm on Tues­day when he fell.

Po­lice said he be­gan bleed­ing from his nose and ears. An am­bu­lance took him to the Scar­bor­ough Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal, where he was list­ed in crit­i­cal con­di­tion.

He died around 6 am on Wednes­day.

An au­top­sy is ex­pect­ed to be done to­day at the hos­pi­tal’s mor­tu­ary to con­firm the cause of death.
