Head of the Tobago Police Division ACP Collis Hazel has issued a stern warning to criminals ahead of the Christmas season.
Speaking with Guardian Media, the senior police official said the TTPS has launched a comprehensive initiative to crack down on crime in Tobago during this festive period.
“We will be out there in full force,” he promises, “on the highways and by-ways, in the streets and all over, doing our regular patrols.”
He issued a stern warning to all would-be criminals:
“Don’t get caught in our exercises as someone who commits an offence, because we are there to make life very miserable for you in this yuletide season.”
ACP Hazel also advised Tobagonians to avoid becoming a target for desperate criminals this Christmas, and to be on the alert for those intending to snatch their wallets and purses.
“While the police are out and about for Christmas, our focus will be on fighting crime and criminality,” he stated.
The senior police official said in order to deter criminals, the TTPS strategy will include advanced surveillance systems and community partnerships.
