Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the theft of a white MAN truck which was stolen from TCL Ltd com­pound in Clax­ton Bay on Sun­day night. The truck which be­longs to Oron­co Ser­vices Ltd was found aban­doned near the Wa­ter­loo Cre­ma­tion site.

Ini­tial re­ports stat­ed that around 5 pm, a 38-year-old su­per­vi­sor with Oron­co Ser­vices Ltd left the truck un­se­cured with the keys in the ig­ni­tion on the west­ern side of the TCL com­pound at South­ern Main Road and went away.

Around 10.55 pm, a TCL em­ploy­ee was op­er­at­ing a fork­lift when he saw a man dri­ving the truck out of the com­pound. How­ev­er, be­fore he could alert the se­cu­ri­ty of­fi­cer on du­ty, the truck ex­it­ed on­to the main road. Of­fi­cers of the St Mar­garet’s Po­lice Sta­tion were alert­ed, and a flash alert was sent through the Com­mand Cen­tre.

Of­fi­cers vis­it­ed the scene, in­ter­viewed work­ers, and re­viewed CCTV footage. While the truck was found in­tact by PC Sookraj and PC Ho­sein of the Freeport Po­lice Sta­tion, the keys were miss­ing. It was lat­er towed to the St Mar­garet’s Po­lice Sta­tion to be processed by Crime Scene In­ves­ti­ga­tors as in­ves­ti­ga­tions con­tin­ue.
