Police are investigating the theft of a white MAN truck which was stolen from TCL Ltd compound in Claxton Bay on Sunday night. The truck which belongs to Oronco Services Ltd was found abandoned near the Waterloo Cremation site.
Initial reports stated that around 5 pm, a 38-year-old supervisor with Oronco Services Ltd left the truck unsecured with the keys in the ignition on the western side of the TCL compound at Southern Main Road and went away.
Around 10.55 pm, a TCL employee was operating a forklift when he saw a man driving the truck out of the compound. However, before he could alert the security officer on duty, the truck exited onto the main road. Officers of the St Margaret’s Police Station were alerted, and a flash alert was sent through the Command Centre.
Officers visited the scene, interviewed workers, and reviewed CCTV footage. While the truck was found intact by PC Sookraj and PC Hosein of the Freeport Police Station, the keys were missing. It was later towed to the St Margaret’s Police Station to be processed by Crime Scene Investigators as investigations continue.
