T&T’s COVID death toll climbs to 57

Trinidad and To­ba­go has record­ed yet an­oth­er death from COVID-19, mov­ing the na­tion­al toll up to 57, with the lat­est vic­tim be­ing a man, with pre-ex­ist­ing health con­di­tions.

Con­fir­ma­tion has come from the Min­istry of Health in its lat­est COVID-19 up­date, for to­day, Wednes­day 16 Sep­tem­ber 2020.

The Min­istry is al­so re­port­ing an in­crease in the num­ber of ac­tive cas­es of the dis­ease, with the to­tal now 2,426, as an ad­di­tion­al 70 cas­es have been record­ed.

How­ev­er, the Min­istry says these lat­est cas­es are the re­sults from sam­ples tak­en dur­ing the pe­ri­od Sep­tem­ber 4th to Sep­tem­ber 15th, 2020. There­fore, this fig­ure is NOT rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the pos­i­tive cas­es over the last 24 hours on­ly.

Oth­er high­lights from the Min­istry’s up­date:

●  Twelve (12) per­sons have been dis­charged from health fa­cil­i­ties.

●  96 COVID-19 pos­i­tive pa­tients are still in hos­pi­tal

●  2,133 pa­tients have been home iso­lat­ed un­der the con­tin­u­ous mon­i­tor­ing of the re­spec­tive Coun­ty Med­ical Of­fi­cer Health (CMOH) of­fices.

●  127 COVID-19 pos­i­tive pa­tients are in step-down / tran­si­tion fa­cil­i­ties
