The Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association (TTUTA) says preliminary data is suggesting 75 per cent support for today's action.
TTUTA asked teachers to skip the morning session of school and turn up half day for the afternoon period.
This was meant to be a form of protest against the Chief Personnel Officer's (CPO) four per cent salary increase offer for the years 2014-2019.
TTUTA president Antonia Tekah-De Freitas told Guardian Media that the data on teacher attendance today is still being collected.
The Ministry of Education has not released any of its figures yet.
