Investigations are continuing into two separate woundings in Valencia and Arima over the weekend, which left the victims in critical condition at hospital up to yesterday.
In the first incident, police said around 10.55 pm, a 33-year-old PH driver of Baptist Trace, Valencia was seated in his white Nissan AD wagon at Quare Road, Valencia in the vicinity of the community centre when several gunshots were heard.
People nearby alerted police who arrived to find the driver slumped over, bleeding from a gunshot wound to the head.
He was taken to the Sangre Grande Regional Hospital where he was treated and then transferred at the Arima Hospital.
In the second incident around 12 am yesterday, a 59-year-old man from Waterloo Road, Arouca, was stabbed while liming with people at the Arima Angel Harps Steel Orchestra pan yard at Olton Road, Arima.
Police said the victim had been engaged in a verbal altercation with the suspect who is known to him, when the suspect pulled out a knife and dealt him a single stab to the upper chest.
He was rushed to the Arima Hospital where he is being treated.
