Two in critical condition after shootings in Valencia and Arima

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing in­to two sep­a­rate wound­ings in Va­len­cia and Ari­ma over the week­end, which left the vic­tims in crit­i­cal con­di­tion at hos­pi­tal up to yes­ter­day.

In the first in­ci­dent, po­lice said around 10.55 pm, a 33-year-old PH dri­ver of Bap­tist Trace, Va­len­cia was seat­ed in his white Nis­san AD wag­on at Quare Road, Va­len­cia in the vicin­i­ty of the com­mu­ni­ty cen­tre when sev­er­al gun­shots were heard.

Peo­ple near­by alert­ed po­lice who ar­rived to find the dri­ver slumped over, bleed­ing from a gun­shot wound to the head.

He was tak­en to the San­gre Grande Re­gion­al Hos­pi­tal where he was treat­ed and then trans­ferred at the Ari­ma Hos­pi­tal.

In the sec­ond in­ci­dent around 12 am yes­ter­day, a 59-year-old man from Wa­ter­loo Road, Arou­ca, was stabbed while lim­ing with peo­ple at the Ari­ma An­gel Harps Steel Or­ches­tra pan yard at Olton Road, Ari­ma.

Po­lice said the vic­tim had been en­gaged in a ver­bal al­ter­ca­tion with the sus­pect who is known to him, when the sus­pect pulled out a knife and dealt him a sin­gle stab to the up­per chest.

He was rushed to the Ari­ma Hos­pi­tal where he is be­ing treat­ed.
