Po­lice ar­rest­ed two men and seized two firearms and am­mu­ni­tion in sep­a­rate in­ci­dents in the North East­ern, and East­ern Di­vi­sions, yes­ter­day.

The TTPS said at ap­prox­i­mate­ly 10:15 pm, of­fi­cers of the North East­ern Di­vi­sion con­duct­ed Op­er­a­tion Blue Line Ex­er­cise on 2nd De­cem­ber, 2023 in the vicin­i­ty of Re­al Street, San Juan.

Po­lice said dur­ing a stop and search, PC East­man stopped a beige-coloured Toy­ota Corol­la, dri­ven by a 22-year-old labour­er from East­ern Main Road, San Juan.

The of­fi­cers searched the ve­hi­cle and the dri­ver. Dur­ing the search, of­fi­cers re­port­ed­ly found one Amadeo Rossi firearm with five rounds of am­mu­ni­tion tucked in the waist area of the man. The items were seized and the dri­ver was ar­rest­ed and charged for the of­fence.

PC East­man is con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.

The Po­lice al­so said ear­li­er that day in the East­ern Di­vi­sion, at ap­prox­i­mate­ly 4:45 pm, of­fi­cers of Spe­cial Pa­trol Unit, Va­len­cia, re­spond­ed to a re­port of loud ex­plo­sions in the vicin­i­ty of Brick House Restau­rant and Bar, Va­len­cia Old Road. Up­on ar­rival, the of­fi­cers ob­served sev­er­al peo­ple in­volved in a scuf­fle, which they soon quelled. While in­ter­view­ing the peo­ple in­volved, they con­duct­ed a search of one of the par­tic­i­pants and al­leged­ly found a .38 Spe­cial Re­volver and 5 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

The 22-year-old man from Va­len­cia Road was found not to be a valid per­mit hold­er; there­fore, the items were seized and he was placed un­der ar­rest and con­veyed to the Va­len­cia Po­lice Post. En­quiries are con­tin­u­ing in­to the seizures.
