Two 58-year-old men are ex­pect­ed to ap­pear at the Rio Claro Mag­is­trates’ Court to­mor­row, Mon­day 1 June 2020, to an­swer charges of pos­ses­sion of cannabis.

The men were ar­rest­ed and charged yes­ter­day dur­ing a road check ex­er­cise con­duct­ed in the Rio Claro dis­trict by po­lice, be­tween the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.

Of­fi­cial po­lice re­ports in­di­cate that dur­ing the ex­er­cise, of­fi­cers stopped a white Nis­san B14 mo­tor ve­hi­cle at Cu­napo South­ern Road, Cushe Vil­lage, Rio Claro. A search of the ve­hi­cle was con­duct­ed, which led to po­lice find­ing a black garbage bag con­tain­ing 800 grammes of cannabis.

The dri­ver, Shel­don Moses, and his pas­sen­ger, Wayne Gillard—both from San Fer­nan­do—were ar­rest­ed and charged with pos­ses­sion of cannabis by PC Mo­hammed.

The ex­er­cise was co­or­di­nat­ed by Snr Supt Aguilal, su­per­vised by Cpl Tyson and in­clud­ed the Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment (CID), the In­ter-Agency Task Force (IATF), and Charge Room of­fi­cers.
