Two men were ar­rest­ed and a ve­hi­cle seized in the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion on Wednes­day when of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an­ti-crime ex­er­cis­es in the Cou­va and Freeport Po­lice Sta­tion dis­tricts.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, the of­fi­cers, act­ing on in­for­ma­tion re­ceived, rel­a­tive to a re­port of a rob­bery with vi­o­lence which oc­curred in the Cou­va dis­trict pro­ceed­ed to Maraj Lane Freeport and ar­rest­ed two men, a 26-year-old as well as a 33-year-old, both of Freeport.

The of­fi­cers al­so seized a dark-coloured Kia Sportage which was al­leged­ly used in the rob­bery, the ve­hi­cle is now lodged at the Cou­va Po­lice Sta­tion.

The ex­er­cise was spear­head­ed by Snr. Supt Si­mon, Supt. Gyan, Supt Baird, ASP Ablacks­ingh, In­sp Syl­van and In­sp Stew­art. Field op­er­a­tions were su­per­vised by Sgt Nel­son, Cpl Hall and al­so in­clud­ed mem­bers of the Cou­va, Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tion De­part­ment and Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force, Area South.
