?The UK Guardian has retracted an article it published on February 18, which claimed that T&T was on an international terror blacklist. A release issued by the Government Information Service Ltd said the Ministry of the Attorney General challenged the accuracy of the report and demanded a retraction. The release said that in a letter dated March 4 to attorneys representing the T&T Government, the newspaper clarified that the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) had in fact issued two documents. According to the GISL release, the newspaper noted that one of the documents listed Trinidad and Tobago as being among 20 states with strategic anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing deficiencies which the FATF identified as having made progress and planned to address. The newspaper's correction was published on February 25.
