?The UK Guardian has re­tract­ed an ar­ti­cle it pub­lished on Feb­ru­ary 18, which claimed that T&T was on an in­ter­na­tion­al ter­ror black­list. A re­lease is­sued by the Gov­ern­ment In­for­ma­tion Ser­vice Ltd said the Min­istry of the At­tor­ney Gen­er­al chal­lenged the ac­cu­ra­cy of the re­port and de­mand­ed a re­trac­tion. The re­lease said that in a let­ter dat­ed March 4 to at­tor­neys rep­re­sent­ing the T&T Gov­ern­ment, the news­pa­per clar­i­fied that the Fi­nan­cial Ac­tion Task Force (FATF) had in fact is­sued two doc­u­ments. Ac­cord­ing to the GISL re­lease, the news­pa­per not­ed that one of the doc­u­ments list­ed Trinidad and To­ba­go as be­ing among 20 states with strate­gic an­ti-mon­ey laun­der­ing and counter ter­ror­ist fi­nanc­ing de­fi­cien­cies which the FATF iden­ti­fied as hav­ing made progress and planned to ad­dress. The news­pa­per's cor­rec­tion was pub­lished on Feb­ru­ary 25.
