The Trinidad and Tobago Inter-Island Transportation Company Limited (TTIT) has confirmed that the M.V. Cabo Star is scheduled to return to Trinidad on August 3. The vessel has been undergoing statutory dry-docking since July 12 in Curaçao. It will resume inter-island cargo operations on August 4, once all regulatory approvals and documentation are in place.
During the Cabo Star’s absence, TTIT deployed the T&T Spirit, the Galleons Passage, and the M.V. Emprendedora to ensure continuity of cargo transport between Trinidad and Tobago.
The T&T Spirit transported 985 passengers and 653 vehicles. The Galleons Passage transported 392 passengers and 532 vehicles. The M.V. Emprendedora transported 207 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) and 218 vehicles.
Food items and pharmaceuticals have been given priority aboard the T&T Spirit and Galleons Passage. Building materials, equipment, and heavy cargo have been transported by the M.V. Emprendedora.
