The Unit­ed States Deputy As­sis­tant Sec­re­tary (DAS) for Se­cu­ri­ty Agree­ments and For­eign Pol­i­cy Ad­vi­sors, Bu­reau of Po­lit­i­cal-Mil­i­tary Af­fairs Lin­da Specht will vis­it T&T next week.

She will ar­rive in the coun­try on Mon­day and leave on Wednes­day.

Ac­cord­ing to the US Em­bassy, Specht will meet with gov­ern­ment min­is­ters for bi­lat­er­al dis­cus­sions on ad­vanc­ing the ro­bust se­cu­ri­ty co­op­er­a­tion be­tween both coun­tries. Her vis­it fol­lows Prime Min­is­ter Dr Kei­th Row­ley's vis­it to the Unit­ed States last month.

Specht is the lead ne­go­tia­tor for bi­lat­er­al de­fense agree­ments that in­volve ac­cess, sta­tus pro­tec­tions, and bur­den shar­ing. With more than 30 years’ ex­pe­ri­ence in the For­eign Ser­vice, she has held key po­si­tions in po­lit­i­cal, po­lit­i­cal-mil­i­tary, and eco­nom­ic af­fairs both at the State De­part­ment and in U.S. em­bassies and con­sulates around the world.
