TRINIDAD, TOBAGO AND THE SOUTHERN WINDWARDS
Today will be mostly cloudy with intermittent showers and/or periods of rain. There is a medium-to-high chance of heavy showers and/or isolated thunderstorms, with conditions becoming settled by late afternoon and into tonight. Gusty winds, street/flash flooding and agitated seas can be expected in areas under heavy shower/thunderstorms.
Riverine Flood Alert #2 – Orange Level remains in effect for communities surrounding major and minor water courses in Trinidad.
River levels are currently near or above threshold values in some parts along the major and minor watercourses with flooding ongoing in some areas. Rainfall accumulations are forecast to be in excess of 25mm over the next 12 to 24 hours and can further increase the volume of already overwhelmed water courses and over spilling of banks is expected. There is now a high risk to public safety, livelihood and property in communities surrounding these watercourses. Note that runoff will be slow at high tide, which will be at 07:51 am and 07:23 pm today, Monday 28 November 2022.
INSTRUCTIONS: Monitor weather conditions and river levels before venturing out. Avoid areas with flood waters. Monitor updates from official sources and plan safety measures, including emergency supplies of food and water. Follow the instructions of government officials.

Adverse Weather Alert #3 – Orange Level remains in effect for both Trinidad and Tobago and offshore marine areas
Rainfall and/or showers of varying intensities are expected to continue throughout the course of today. There is a medium-to-high chance of heavy showers and/or isolated thunderstorms.
IMPACTS: ● Rainfall greater than 25mm and in excess of this amount in isolated areas. ● Gusty winds in excess of 55 km/h may be experienced especially in the vicinity of heavy showers/thunderstorms. ● Street/flash flooding and localized ponding are also likely in heavy downpours. ● Seas can become agitated at times in sheltered areas. ● Landslides/landslips are also possible in areas so prone.
INSTRUCTIONS: Do not wade or drive through flood waters. Secure loose outdoor items and livestock. Monitor weather conditions and official updates.
