The following is the bulletin issued by the Met Service to 06:00 am, today, covering the period: today until midnight…
TRINIDAD, TOBAGO AND THE WINDWARD ISLANDS
Today will be mostly cloudy and at times overcast, with intermittent light or moderate showers/rain over broad areas. There is a high (70-80%) chance of heavy showers or isolated thunderstorm activity. Settled conditions are expected overnight, which will be interrupted at times by occasional showers. Gusty winds and street/flash flooding can occur in the event of heavy showers or thunderstorms.
■ Adverse Weather Alert #1 – Yellow Level is in effect until 8:00 pm today, for Trinidad and Tobago and surrounding marine areas.
Periods of rain and/or showers of varying intensities are expected from the afternoon on Tuesday 22nd November 2022, commencing over Tobago and eastern areas of Trinidad as an active, low-level tough traverses westward over our area.
There is also a high (70-80%) chance of heavy showers and thunderstorms that can produce intense rainfall between 25-50 mm and in excess of this amount in isolated areas. Gusty winds in excess of 55 km/h may be experienced especially in the vicinity of heavy showers/thunderstorms. Street/flash flooding and localized ponding are also likely in heavy downpours. Seas can become agitated at times in sheltered areas. Landslides/landslips are also possible in areas so prone.
Instructions: Do not wade or drive through flood waters. Secure loose outdoor items and livestock. Monitor weather conditions and official updates.

■ Riverine Flood Alert #2 – Yellow Level is in effect until 8:00 pm tonight, for Caroni River Basin and its tributaries.
River levels along the Caroni River are currently above 80%. With periods of heavy showers still likely over the next 24 hours, this additional rainfall can keep the river levels elevated, so there remains a moderate risk to public safety, livelihood and property.
Instructions: Carefully monitor weather conditions and river/water levels. Monitor updates from official sources and plan safety measures, including emergency supplies of food and water. Do not take unnecessary risks. Follow the instructions of government officials.
