A woman was ar­rest­ed in a Port-of-Spain book­store af­ter at­tempt­ing to steal books on Sat­ur­day. 

Po­lice stat­ed in a re­lease that at around 1:50 pm, Sgt Joseph of the Port of Spain City Po­lice was pa­trolling near Hen­ry Street when a book­store se­cu­ri­ty guard alert­ed him to a cus­tomer con­ceal­ing books in a bag and try­ing to leave un­de­tect­ed. 

Sgt Joseph con­front­ed the woman, who ad­mit­ted to the theft of books val­ued at $2,150.65 and ar­rest­ed her. 

The 33-year-old sus­pect was tak­en to the Port-of-Spain City Po­lice Head­quar­ters.
