Di­ver­si­ty is key in our lives if we have to grow well-root­ed.

To di­ver­si­fy our­selves is one of the wis­est goals to have. But what is di­ver­si­ty? This is sim­ply de­fined as the state of be­ing di­verse. At this time we are liv­ing now, we all need to un­der­stand each oth­er bet­ter. You may won­der why that is im­por­tant. True un­der­stand­ing can bring more har­mo­ny with­in our so­ci­ety, or bet­ter yet, to our lives. This, in turn, can lead to be­com­ing more un­der­stand­ing with and of each oth­er. It is nec­es­sary for all of us to un­der­stand each oth­er to make sense of what we are go­ing through with­in our world. So di­ver­si­ty is key if we need to make any sense of it all.

When you di­ver­si­fy your­self, it will lead you to a greater un­der­stand­ing of the oth­er peo­ple we share our spaces with. If you un­der­stand each oth­er, will not your ap­pre­ci­a­tion for hu­man be­ings change? First­ly, we need to un­der­stand that change comes from be­ing aware. Are you aware that if we all could tune in to hav­ing a broth­er­hood or sis­ter­hood our so­ci­ety would be in a bet­ter state than it is to­day? Be­cause once you sin­cere­ly un­der­stand in­di­vid­u­als, your per­spec­tive will change. Re­mem­ber that mis­un­der­stand­ing is formed by not be­ing un­der­stood. So ask your­self con­scious­ly, do I un­der­stand peo­ple?

Equal­i­ty brings true di­ver­si­ty, so when we learn that we all have an equal stake in the pie, then di­ver­si­ty comes nat­u­ral­ly be­cause that would mean we tru­ly un­der­stand and em­brace all as hu­mankind; mean­ing we all can learn some­thing from each oth­er. So if we per­ceive our­selves as be­ing equal in sta­tus and in rank, our world per­spec­tive on hu­mankind will change. Is this not what we want for the pro­gres­sive so­ci­ety that we claim to be? And to do this will al­so re­quire us to love each oth­er from the in­ner heart.

What is the ef­fect of be­ing di­verse? In plain and sim­ple words, we can de­scribe it as just love. In any­thing we do, love has to be the mo­tion or the mo­ti­va­tor that dri­ves or push­es us for­ward for a bet­ter day. The on­ly way we can move for­ward is through lov­ing each oth­er with sin­cer­i­ty. Do we have that un­der­stand­ing and ap­pre­ci­a­tion? Do we have that fore­sight that it is need­ed in this so­ci­ety? As I write this, let us em­brace each oth­er through the eyes of LOVE...Then our un­der­stand­ing and ap­pre­ci­a­tion would be great­ly im­proved be­cause we can tru­ly be aware of each oth­er. We will change by us first want­i­ng it.

Af­ter di­ver­si­ty comes this phe­nom­e­non known as love. Love is the an­swer and it is what we need now more than ever to unite us for com­mon caus­es. It will make our LIVES bet­ter but this ap­pre­ci­a­tion will emerge on­ly when you un­der­stand your­self. Love will help us to see be­yond the bar­ri­ers of colour, creed, race and oth­er fac­tors. Once we take the stand to tru­ly em­brace this time and mo­ment, we will im­prove our­selves be­cause we see in­di­vid­u­als through the eyes of love by be­ing di­verse.

By tru­ly un­der­stand­ing in­di­vid­u­als, all wa­ters in life will change be­cause we un­der­stand the very essence of what it takes to be hu­man, or shall I say civilised. Let us tru­ly learn to em­brace each oth­er, ap­pre­ci­ate each oth­er and see each oth­er through the eyes of love. We will cer­tain­ly see the so­ci­ety’s per­spec­tive change once we march for­ward pro­gres­sive­ly with a pos­i­tive choice of words by be­ing di­verse.
