A goal each from Joshua Alexander and Ryan Jordan helped Morvant Caledonia AIA continue its flawless run in Division One of the Ascension Invitational Football Tournament on Saturday.

Playing at Phase Two La Horquetta Recreation ground, the leader met Terminix La Horquetta Rangers FC, coming away with a 2-0 victory. It was the unit's eighth straight win for full 24 points to sit just ahead of closest challenger second-placed Defence Force with 22 points from eight matches.

Play in the first half was balanced between the teams as neither was fortunate enough to find the back of the net as the match remained scoreless at halftime.

On the resumption, it took Morvant Caledonia 12 minutes to go ahead thanks to Alexander in the 57th minute. His team rallied on with that lead for much of the second session until Jordan gave his team a comfortable lead, scoring in the 78th minute to go up 2-0 which Morvant Caledonia held on to when time expired.

At Guaya Recreation ground, Devon Modeste was no way intimidated by the host team scoring a hat-trick to lift Queen's Park Cricket Club (QPCC) to a 3-0 victory over Guaya United FC.

Modeste put his team out front with a pair of goals in the 26th and 30th minute to lead 2-1 at the half-way mark. Midway through the second half, he completed his and his team's third goal to earn QPCC, its second win of the competition after eight rounds of matches.

QPCC is in the eighth spot while Guaya, who sank to its seventh loss, sits in 10th place in the 12-team competition.

In the lone match on Friday night, San Juan Jabloteh was held by FC Santa Rosa to a 1-1 draw at the Arima Velodrome. Osei Sandy scored the opener in the 63rd but thanks to Jodel Brown, Jabloteh got the equaliser in the 75th.

In Division Two, the University of T&T (UTT) remains at the head of the table after sealing its sixth win from nine matches. Led by goals from Stevon Stoute in the eighth and Cyrano Glen in the 31st, UTT defeated Harlem Strikers, 2-0 at Frederick Settlement ground in Caroni.
