Angel Cooper got the lone try as Bishop’s Centenary College ‘A’ edged past Bishop Anstey High School 5-0 in the opening match of the 2018 Secondary School Girls Rugby League season at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain, recently.
Holy Name Convent (Port-of-Spain) had a much easier time as it got a 21-0 default win over defending champions, St James Government Secondary in the day’s other scheduled match.
Today, competition will resume with three matches at the Queen’s Park Savannah from 3.30pm.
In the opener, Holy Name Convent (PoS) ‘B’ tackles Providence Girls High School on Harvard Ground, while Bishop Centenary College ‘A’ faces Holy Name Convent (PoS) ‘A’ on Carib Ground, followed by Bishop Centenary College ‘B’ versus Bishop Anstey on Carib Ground at 4.15pm
Last year, St James Government Secondary School became the fourth school to lift the title in six years when they battled past Bishop Anstey ‘B’ 15-5 in the final.
