Captain of the T&T U-15 team Rajeev Ramnath with manager of the team Narine Bideshi at UWI Spec yesterday.

The T&T National Under-15 team warmed up for the upcoming West Indies Regional U-15 tournament with an very good performance against Carapichaima East Secondary at UWI Spec yesterday.

Caps batting first were reeling on 73/7 when the rain came and after a short shower, they refused to continue the match against the youngsters. Top scoring for Caps was Joel Bristol who made 19. Opener Renaldo Lezama was bowled for 13 after hitting two fours early in the innings. However, he was the first to be dismissed bowled by pacer Liam Mamchan and this opened the floodgates. Fellow pacer Ricardo Chase was impressive in grabbing three wickets for 24 runs.

Central Zone left-arm orthodox spinner Ronillster Perreira took two wickets for 25 runs. South off-spinner Avalon Changoor was his normal miserly self bowling four overs three maidens one wicket for one run. National player Nickyle Jalim who was used as a guest player for Caps weathered the storm set up by his team-mates on the national team.

Manager of the team Narine Bideshi said he has a well rounded team and he is hoping for good things from them. After T&T finished last in 2017, the T&T Cricket Board decided to change the team management and now Bideshi and coach Keshava Ramphal will be in charge.

He said, "The guys are really gelling well. We've had some good sessions with them and they are coming along nicely. The coach is a young man who is doing well in his career and he has really done well with this team. He is a bright boy and we are seeing his good work.”

Bideshi, who served as manager of the T&T Under-21 team some years ago said, "The key for our players will be how quickly the boys adapt to the conditions on tour. The pitches in Jamaica could be a little different from what we have at home, but I think our boys will be fine.”

The national team will continue their preparations over the weekend before flying out to Jamaica Monday morning.
