Chatoor misses out on 200, 500 yard freestyle medal

Na­tion­al swim­mer Ja­da Cha­toor missed out on medals in both the women's 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle events when her Emory Uni­ver­si­ty swim­ming and div­ing teams faced off against the Uni­ver­si­ty of Geor­gia at the Ram­sey Aquat­ic Cen­ter at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Geor­gia, USA on Sat­ur­day.

Com­pet­ing in the 200-yard freestyle, Cha­toor touched the wall in fifth spot with a time of one minute, 53.18 sec­onds to trail the Uni­ver­si­ty of Geor­gia quar­tet of Zoie Hart­man (1:48.02 min­utes), Rachel Stege (1:48.20), Jil­lian Bar­czyk (1:48.31), and Cal­lie Dick­in­son (1:50.42).

In the 500-yard freestyle, Cha­toor was sixth best in 5:05.36 to fin­ish be­hind the Uni­ver­si­ty of Geor­gia's Stege who won in 4:47.03, Sloane Re­in­stein (4:49.29), Emory's Sloane Dono­van (5:01.50), and UGA duo, Hei­di Stalk­fleet (5:03.84), and Mor­gan Razews­ki (5:05.14).

Cha­toor and the Ea­gles will next com­pete at the Auburn First Chance In­vi­ta­tion­al on Feb­ru­ary 3 and Feb­ru­ary 4 ahead of the Uni­ver­si­ty Ath­let­ic As­so­ci­a­tion (UAA) Cham­pi­onships which be­gins Feb­ru­ary 8.
