De­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Club San­do stayed top of the stand­ings in the Trinidad Group of the T&T Women’s League Foot­ball (TT WoLF) when they won by de­fault over Trinci­ty Na­tion­als at the Ed­die Hart Ground, Tu­na­puna, on Sat­ur­day (May 10).

The de­fault win lift­ed Club San­do to 30 points from 11 match­es at the top of the eight-team ta­ble, two points ahead of De­fence Force, who pun­ished Ath­let­ic In­ter­na­tion­al Acad­e­my 12-0 in an ear­ly match on Sat­ur­day at De­fence Force Re­serve Ground. Mac­queripe was led by hat-tricks from Alex­cia Ali (1st, 32nd, 39th), Niki­ta Go­sine (7th, 13th, 83rd) and Sum­mer Ar­joon (34th, 59th, 81st).

The trio of Sha­nia Lewis (18th), Bre­an­na George (19th), and Aaliyah Prince (64th) were al­so among the goals for the De­fence Force in the one-sided con­test.

In an­oth­er match card­ed for Sat­ur­day in the Trinidad Group, third-placed Uni­ver­si­ty of T&T (UTT) Pa­tri­ots al­so won by de­fault over Po­lice at UTT O’Meara Road Cam­pus Ground to im­prove to 19 points, while on Sun­day, Pi­o­neers tram­pled Diego Mar­tin Cen­tral Unit­ed 14-0 at Ma­haica Sport­ing Com­plex, Point Fortin.

For Pi­o­neers, Aliyah Smith (2nd, 5th, 25th) and Karis­sa France (17th, 56th, 85th) led the way with hat-tricks, while Daniel­la Find­ley (9th, 20th), All­isha Phillip (80th, 89th) and Tehilla Williams (82nd, 90th) chipped in with two goals each, with Temia St Clair (28th) and Noshyavah Os­borne (71st) get­ting one each.

Over at the Cour­land Recre­ation Ground in Black Rock, To­ba­go to­day, Jew­els SC got a lone strike from na­tion­al play­er Madi­son Camp­bell to beat ta­ble lead­ers To­ba­go Chi­cas 1-0.

With the win, Jew­els climbed to 17 points from 11 match­es, four be­hind To­ba­go Chi­cas, who dropped points for the sec­ond match in a row af­ter a 3-3 draw with Black Pan­thers in a resched­uled en­counter on Wednes­day last.

Al­so, in To­ba­go on Sat­ur­day, Black Pan­thers won 3-0 over Com­bined Ballerz, led by a goal each from Kay­la Coop­er (4th), Gyasi Lewis (14th), and Sh­er­ni­ah Al­fred (89th), to stay with­in strik­ing dis­tance of the top two teams with 12 points.
