Team captain Christopher Durity scored a pair of goals to lead Defence Force Past Players to a 4-0 defeat of Sunday Krew in an all-T&T club Over-40 Division final when the St Lucia International Masters Football Tournament hosted by Veterans In Sport Incorporated ended at the Gros Islet Mini Stadium on Monday.
For Defence Force, former T&T international Devorn Jorsling, who was voted as the “Most Valuable Player” of the Final, and Steve Benny also added a goal each in the win.
Defence Force defender Khell Elie captured the ‘Most Valuable Player’ of the tournament accolade, while teammate Emmanuel Nurse was named as the ‘Best Goalkeeper’ after not conceding a single goal throughout the duration of the competition.
In the third-placed playoff, Ballers Forever blanked last year’s tournament winners, Era Masters of T&T, 2-0.
In the Over-50 Division, the Earl Jean-captained Masters Re-Loaded overcame T&T’s Maracas A-Lite 2-0, with Roger Celestine scoring a pair of goals to end as the joint top scorer with Kendall Velox of Maracas A-Lite, with both players ending with eight goals each. Earlier on, host team Dennery United edged Sunday Krew 1-0 for the third spot.
