Uni­ver­sal Flip­pers and Trav­ellers reg­is­tered their sec­ond straight wins in the Har­vard Club April Fest Win­dall Crick­et Tour­na­ment.

Af­ter beat­ing Cheers by three wick­ets on the sec­ond night of ac­tion on April 5 at the Club's car park on Tragerete Road St Clair, Flip­pers got the bet­ter of WSC in a close en­counter one week lat­er.

WSC bat­ted first and was dis­missed 31 in 7.2 of the eight overs. In re­ply, Flip­pers sur­passed their vic­to­ry tar­get of 31 end­ing on 35 for 4 with one over to spare to se­cure their sec­ond win.

Flip­pers' Shel­don Lloyd was named "Play­er of the Match" af­ter tak­ing three wick­ets. WSC was go­ing for a sec­ond win af­ter over­com­ing One Bounce by five wick­ets in the open­ing match of the tour­na­ment on April 5.

Trav­ellers fol­lowed up their com­mand­ing eight-wick­et tri­umph over hosts Har­vard War­riors two weeks ago with a sim­i­lar four-wick­et whip­ping of Hit List in a high-scor­ing game.

Hit List was dis­missed for a chal­leng­ing to­tal of 42. Mar­lon Bhim (8) and Im­ran Khan (7) were the top scor­ers for Hit List.

How­ev­er, Trav­ellers rose to the chal­lenge and got to 43 for the loss of sev­en wick­ets to pre­vail with two balls re­main­ing thanks to man of the match Shaquille Hing­wan who notched 14 runs, the high­est in­di­vid­ual score thus far.

One Bounce re­bound­ed from their open­ing de­feat to re­sound­ing­ly beat Cheers by 18 runs.

Tak­ing to the crease first, One Bounce amassed 33 for eight. with Varindra Ja­grup the top bats­man with sev­en. The One Bounce bowlers then dis­man­tled the Cheers bat­ting line-up for 15 runs to romp to an 18-run vic­to­ry. Jon-Ross Dook­ie led the bowl­ing as­sault tak­ing two wick­ets for two runs. He was named "Play­er of the Match".

Home team Har­vard suf­fered their sec­ond con­sec­u­tive loss last Fri­day af­ter they were crushed by 31 runs by the D'Crush­ers who blast­ed to a tour­na­ment-high of 49 runs for the loss of four wick­ets. Dil­lon Sankar led the bat­ting for D'Crush­ers. The im­pos­ing to­tal proved in­sur­mount­able for the Har­vard play­ers who were bowled out for 18. Sankar took home the "Play­er of the Match" ho­n­ours.

De­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Ban From D'Park got their ti­tle de­fence off to a win­ning start with a com­pre­hen­sive nine wick­ets de­feat of D'Drinks Spot who was dis­missed for 24. Kapil Har­ry re­mained at the crease 11 not out. Mil­let was the pick of the bowlers claim­ing 3 wick­ets for two runs. Ban From D'Park then cruised to 25 runs while los­ing one wick­et. Mil­let was ad­judged the "Play­er of the Match".

Ac­tion con­tin­ues this af­ter­noon with Flip­pers go­ing for vic­to­ry num­ber three when they face One Bounce at 8 pm. Trav­ellers will al­so be aim­ing for their third tri­umph go­ing up against D'Crush­ers from 9.30 pm.
