Glamorgan maintains its 100 percent winning record in both the men and women’s Premier Division of the
T&T Volleyball Federation Flow National League on the weekend.
Playing at the Central Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Saith Park, Chaguanas on Saturday, Glamorgan women withstood a strong challenge from Big South East Port-of-Spain (SEPoS) 25-21, 25-21, 25-23 to improve to a 2-0 record, while its opponent dropped to 0-3 on the season.
Also on Saturday, West Side Stars rebounded from its loss to Glamorgan with a win by default over a short-handed Technocrats.
A day later at the same venue, Glamorgan made it three wins from as many outings by easing past Technocrats 25-8, 25-15, 25-15, while West Side Stars came from behind to humble SEPoS 18-25, 25-23, 25-12, 25-20.
Glamoragn men led by senior national team captain Ryan Stewart brushed aside Toco Youths Volleyball Academy 25-18, 25-20, 25-20 and the national Under-23 men’s team in training for the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association (CAZOVA) Championships in Suriname next month got better of Technocrats 25-19, 25-21 in a best-of-three sets contest, after both teams arrived late for encounter.
On Saturday in the two men’s matches, Southern United Volleyball Academy defeated a late arrive Toco Youths, 25-0, 21-25, 25-18, 29-27 and SEPoS schooled the national Under-23s 25-0, 25-20, 25-22, with the latter losing the first set by default.
